PERAN BYSTANDER DALAM PENANGANAN HENTI JANTUNG DI KOMUNITAS: STUDI LITERATUR

Arimbi Karunia Estri

Abstract

The rate of cardiac arrest according to the Yogyakarta Health Department in the Yogyakarta Health Profile (2012) is 253 cases with the fourth place out of 10 causes of death. Patients who experience cardiac arrest out of the hospital are very unlikely to survive, because the probability of survival decreases by 7-10%. Therefore, immediate treatment is needed by people around the victim as a bystander. The literaur study aims to provide an overview of the results of research on the role of bystanders in the management of cardiac arrest so that it can be used as a reference for recommendations for increasing the number of bystanders and the quality of Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) performed by bystander. The results of the research studied came from the EBSCOHost, proquest, google scholar data base from 2012-2018. The concepts obtained include the concept of cardiac arrest, bystander, treatment of cardiac arrest by bytander. Research result related to the role of bystanders in the management of cardiac arrest show that the help performed by bystander in the first 10 minutes can increase the potential for Return of Spontaneous Circulation (ROSC) to occur and affect the ability to survive 30 days after cardiac arrest. Bystander has an important role in the management of cardiac arrest in the community and needs to be increased in number and the quality of CPR performed .
